Dam Swindle select 15 hidden gems from the first decade of Heist Recordings
Even the best tracks sometimes go by unnoticed. It happens to the best of us. We simply can’t keep track of all the great music that comes out every single day. In 10 years of releasing quality house music, there are gems in our catalog that you will have probably missed. On this compilation, we’re spotlighting some of our favorite Heist tracks that might not be on your radar, but – take it from us – definitely should be.
This selection features tracks from label mainstays like Crackazat (We know), Fouk (Truffles), Nebraska (The blues) and Makèz (Feel the same), each of these artists showing a new perspective on their sound with these tracks. Exploring the more electronic & hi-tech side of Heist, there’s Orlando Voorn’s 90s track ‘Tenderness’, and ‘Space Designer’ from undercover artist Lore of the Samurai.
For a bit of soul in the package, we’ve added a beautiful vocal cut by Marina Trench featuring French Algerian singer Sabrina Bellaouel (Wake up) and one of the standout tracks from Dam Swindle’s former live show: ‘Sugar sugar’.
There are always those unexpected releases that you just feel you need to do as a label. Whether that’s M.ono, Adesse Versions or Demuir; Each of these tracks are still as relevant on today’s dancefloors as when they were released.
All these tracks combined make for a compilation that will surely show you some unexpected heat from the first decade of the label. As always, enjoy the music and we hope this peek into the Heist vaults is one that excites you, makes you smile and above all, makes you dance, dance, dance.
